	Mrs. Cynthia Turnley-Rutan, Peace, Bremerton, WA, is our official District Representative in Parish Nursing.  Besides the usual representation at conferences Mrs. Turnley-Rutan will interact on a one-on-one basis to help congregations looking for a Parish Nurse and also with men and women who want to share their gift of nursing through the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod.

	Northwest Parish Nurse Ministries -  http://www.parishnurseministry.org  and the Northwest District – LCMS (NOW) work together to reach those nurses who would like to broaden their training and be certified as a Parish Nurse. Below is a listing of those certified nurses within the Northwest District.
	Subscribe to the "LCMS Parish Nurse Newsletter" go to www.lcms.org/enews. Select the newsletter form the "Caring for Others" folder then enter your e-mail address, a password and answer a few questions. Limited printed copies are available by request to those without access to the Internet. Call LCMS World Relief and Human Care at (800) 248-1930, ext 1381 to obtain a printed copy.

A project of the Northwest District has been to spearhead a mission to connect our Parish Nurses throughout Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington and to encourage more nurses in the District to consider Parish Nursing.  Chaired and implemented by Dr. Lois Banke (Board of Directors, NW District-LCMS) through the Healthy Congregations Department of the Northwest District, the present Parish Nurse mission statement is as follows:

The mission of the Northwest District Parish Nurse Network is to promote relationships between Parish Nurses throughout the District in support of Christ-centered health and wellness of body, mind and soul.

The Lord has blessed this district with men and women who give their time and talents for the health of the church and congregations.  We pray more men and women in nursing learn about the value of becoming a Parish Nurse.
