Subject: Synod delegates BRTFSSG gathering Newport Beach Jan 29-30

Hello everyone and thank you for being a delegate to the 2010 Synod LCMS Convention,

There are regional meetings being held to gather synod delegates and inform them about the potential restructuring of the LCMS at next summer's convention. The Blue Ribbon Task Force on Synod Structure and Governance (BRTFSSG) was formed to help with this transformation. A representative from this task force presented at each district convention this year, they asked questions, offered ideas and gathered feedback. These gatherings are structured to create informed delegates that can make intelligent decisions for the church body at next summer's convention in Houston. The convention has been extended by two days specifically for this very purpose. The following notice was sent out earlier this month in the District NEWSnow:

ATTENTION SYNOD DELEGATES - REGIONAL GATHERING
DEADLINE - OCT 20

The Synod is requesting all delegates attend a Synod, Structure and Governance Regional Gathering in your local region. The Northwest District delegates, along with CNH, PSW and English will be attending a regional gathering on January 29-30, 2010 in Newport CA. Your one night hotel stay will be covered by Synod, the district will cover your transportation. The hotel stay is based on double occupancy. If you wish to have a private room, you will need to pay the extra, please note on the registration form if you have a roommate preference. Please fill out and mail the registration form and check (if extra nights or single room requested) made out to the Northwest district no later than October 20th.

The schedule for the gathering is below showing start and end times. It would be best if you book your own flight, arriving the morning of January 29 and leaving the afternoon of January 30th; email the e receipt to me at the district and we will reimburse you quickly.
