Dear Northwest District Leaders and
Congregations:
Many congregations in the Northwest District have members and families whoare
directly affected by the war on terrorism. While there are widedifferences of opinion regarding much that is related to this war, the
factremains that many of our
congregations have people they know and love who maybe in harm's way. National conflict affects virtually all of us.
I have asked Rev. Bruce Rumsch, associate Pastor of Trinity Lutheran,Hillsboro,
Oregon, and a retired US Navy Reserve Chaplain, to
help us in developing a list
ofresources for congregations who
minister to families in the Armed Services.
These resources are below. Please continue to pray for peace,
safety for those who may be in harm's way,and
protection for children, citizens, and families who desperately needGod's providential care.
Together in Christ,
Warren Schumacher, President
