Keep us updated on your Tracking the Spirit Participation
Tracking the Spirit Training Tracking the Spirit has raised the awareness that Christians are to be
disciples that make disciples (Matthew 28: 18-20) - and the Northwest District
is in the business of making disciples who are reaching the lost. We receive
calls and emails daily from those who want to be part of mission posts and
outposts. Inquiries from other districts and even other countries are beginning
to surface. Excitement, anticipation, and participation are the key words in
those who are Tracking the Spirit to provide new and significant opportunities
for people to meet Jesus Christ and join in the community of believers.
Institutional Ministry This area of ministry is vast - including hospitals, jails, and nursing
homes. Christ's words about visiting places where there are sick and imprisoned
haunt us, and spur us on to creative approaches for this ministry.
Emergency Assistance
Northwest pastors sometimes encounter emergencies not covered by their
Concordia Insurance Plan. To assist pastors, the District President's office
accepts donations for this special emergency assistance fund.
Consultation to Clergy This resource for church workers, their families and judicatory leaders in
the District is over 35 years in service and. focuses on responses designed to
meet needs unique to professional church workers. Although this resource most
often assists in times of difficulty, crisis and conflict, it can also be
helpful in times of expansion, new direction, preparation and change. For more
information, please contact Nikki Goettle at the District office or email:
mailto:nikkig@nowlcms.org.
New Pastor and Vicar Mentoring
The goal of this program offers consultation, support and prayer as these men
enter the ministry for the first time as pastors and vicars. Pastor Charles
Roluffs has been mentoring these fellows and brings a wealth of gifts and
experience to this ministry. We give thanks to Beautiful Savior, Portland for
their gifts to this ministry. You can assist with travel expenses, books, and
resources for this important ministry.
Demographics
Congregations best plan how to minister to people when they know who lives in
their communities. The Lutheran Church Extension Fund helps in this process by
providing demographic materials to congregations for about $400 per study (a
$6,000 value). The District office also provides on-site interpretation of
these studies to futher help you in your ministry and community outreach. For
more information, please contact Ryan McIvor at the District office or email
Ryan at RyanM@nowlcms.org.
