Mission
Advocates are our strategic partners in carrying out the mission to nurture
disciples to reach the lost.For Jesus’ mission is our mission.“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”Luke 19:10.
In the NW District, 80% of the
population non-Christian.MISSION
ADVOCATES play a key role in bringing people into faith-saving relationships
with Jesus Christ by telling their congregations and others about missions.
MISSION ADVOCATES educate and excite people about reaching the lost in the
northwest and beyond!
Pray
personally for missions.
Communicate
the mission story at the congregational level (in newsletters, bulletins, talks,
displays, etc.).
Encourage
special mission offerings (holidays, festivals, etc.).
Advocate
for district and synodical missions in the annual budget.
Serve
as eyes and ears for the starting of new missions and ministries.
Function
as a contact person for our district regional Mission Development Counselors.
Identify
and encourage potential missionaries (short-term and career).
How
do we assist you in carrying out the tasks of a MISSION ADVOCATE?
Pray for you and this special mission partnership between the local
congregation and district.
Connect
with you through our Mission Development Counselor and volunteers.
Provide
district budget and district plans for mission and ministry on an annual
basis.
Provide accurate and up-to-date mission project information.
How
do Mission Development Counselors assist MISSION ADVOCATES?
Give
“Mission Minute” report in a congregational worship service.
Lead
an Adult, Youth or Children’s Sunday school class.
Do
an interactive presentation for an LWML, Seniors, or any other small group
in your church.These can be
scheduled for daytime or evening hours and any
day of the week.
Meet
with individuals who have a heart for missions and help them select
a
mission project to support through prayer, giving or going into the field.
Help
plan and staff a Mission Festival.
Deliver
a Sunday morning message/presentation.
Put
you in contact with missionaries— in the area, who will do any or all of
these.
